There are a few new containers there as well, which you can use for storage if you feel like it.īasically if you don't know you need this mod, then you probably don't. It's hard to miss - just look around for something new.
If the answer to both questions is yes, then install this mod and you should find something useful in Springvale.
Thanks to DaWrecka for giving me the idea to add perk entries to deal with the script.įeel free to use this mod in anyway you like, just credit me as the original author if you release it anywhere.I don't want to make this too obvious, so ask yourself:Īre you sorry now that you made extensive use of your Pristine Nuka Cola Vending Machine? Thanks to MangoMan for giving me the idea.
Please let me know if you do find one, I will try to fix it if I can.įrom v1.1, this mod should be compatible with most mods, even ones that edit doors in anyway. Very hard locks = 100 Energy Weapons skillĭrop the esp (Burn Locks.esp) into the data folder, and enable it with either the default Fallout 3 Launcher, Fallout Mod Manager or Nexus Mod Manager.īesides being able to perform the melting without actually needing an energy weapon, I haven't come across any. Very easy locks = 15 Energy Weapons skill
Strange I know, but I left it out because there would be no way for the script to identify energy weapons added by mods which I'm sure many of you are using (including myself). Once you have the perk, when you activate a door/container and if your skill in Energy-weapons is high enough you will be asked if you want to melt this lock, if you choose yes then the door will be automatically unlocked and a nice energy sound will play briefly.Īlso you don't actually need an energy weapon in your inventory or equipped to do this. The perk is called 'Hot Energy' because I thought it was a nice name and I also my lack of imagination at naming things.
This mod adds a perk that you can select from level 2 which allows your character to melt away locks on doors and containers (containers work from v1.1). One last thing: if this mod has already been made, please don't tell me or the end result will only be me punching myself for being such an idiot. Fallout 3 (and New Vegas) might be much easier to mod with scripts, but like I said I've been away, I've forgotton somethings so this mod is rather basic at the moment. I have spent most of the last two years in the horrifying abyss that is Skyrim's Papyrus, so coming back to the first game I ever modded is a welcome relief. So since my character is a science and energy-weapon enthusiast, and also accounting for my hated of that damn lockpicking minigame, I decided to make this mod. But I came across the mod 'CherryBomb Locks' by MangoMan and I suddenly had a thought: Why can't we burn off locks if we have these incredible energy weapons around? Surely using lasers and plasma would be more than enough to melt away some pesky locks on doors.
It's been a while since I've been on Fallout 3, perusing the mods for it on the Nexus and generally enjoying this wonderful game.
